For Fall Winter 2024 Max Mara looks to Colette: woman of letters, music hall performer and feminist icon of the Belle Époque. The softly rounded silhouette of the 1910s inspires coats with intriguing new constructions - here a kimono sleeve, there a voluminous back, like a streetsmart bomber jacket.
The writer’s mannish classics are re-interpreted in authoritative officer coats, cabans and power jackets. Camisoles and slipdresses provide a seductive counterpoint to Max Mara’s modern urban armour. This season Max Mara presents deep inky navy to mix with jet black and smoky greys. Billowing pajamas and blousy lounging dresses in flannel or plush midnight blue velvet strike a new note for day and evening; after dark the glint of black and blue crystals highlights their rigorous geometry.
